The Cibona Sports and Business Center was built in a recordly short time before the Universiade which was hosted in Zagreb in 1987. The hall was initially called the Cibona Sports Center and on 4 October 1993 it was renamed as the Dražen Petrović Basketball Center. On that occasion a commemorative plaque with Dražen’s relief depicting him in Cibona’s jersey with a ball in his hand, the work of academic sculptor Slavomir Drinković, was unveiled at the entrance to the hall from Savska street.

“120 days of sorrow, 120 days of pride, 120 days since the tragic event in which fate took away the dearest thing we had. 120 days of pride that we have created such a human and sports greatness our Dražen was. In this place that we have built for it to become a temple of basketball, a place where the world’s greatest basketball stars will be presented but also a place where new Dražens will be created. In the past six years the hall has joined the world’s basketball family and is being renamed today after the greatest of the great. Basketball center „Dražen Petrović“, as we will call it from now on, should be a symbol of everything Dražen emobodied – work, honesty, success and patriotism. To the pride of the great man and all of us who have lived and worked with him. To the pride of our Zagreb and our Croatia.“

An indispensable place for taking photographs during a visit to the Museum and Memorial Center Dražen Petrović is a marble relief, the work of the academic sculptor Zvonimira Obad. The work in which Dražen is shown in full height is built into the wall near the entrance to the musuem. Dražen Petrović’s Square contractor, Ivan Stojčević, donated the relief to the Museum in 2007, on the 14th anniversary of the legendary captain’s death.

The museum holdings also include works by Ladislav Gradečak LADGRAD, two iron reliefs depicting Dražen in semi-profile, set on a background with a chessboard motif in two shades of green, in a silver frame. Under the relief there is an inscription written in golden letters in Croatian and English – „Budi ono što želiš“ /„Be Whatever You Want“ and Dražen Petrović.
