Paintings

Most of the paintings with Dražen Petrović as a motif were made posthumously as a hommage to the basketball genious. These are mainly portraits in profile and semi-profile as well as several full-length depictions made in different techniques: works by Vladimir Vrljic Ankin, oil on canvas (1996), Rozarija Radić, oil on canvas (1996), Gordana Ležaje, aquarelle (1997), Mate Čvrljak, pastel (1997), Dimitrije Popović, oil on canvas (1997), Mihael Kolarić, charcoal (2015), Davor Šikić, oil on canvas (1994). From the earlier works created during Dražen’s life we single out the works of Dalibor Šikić, aquarelle (1985) and Nenad Marasović, oil on canvas (1985).
The earliest dated portrait is the work of Dalibor Šikić, an artist from Šibenik and a passionate basketball fan. His relationship with Dražen dates back to the earliest days. Namely, in 1970, when Dražen was only six years old, artist and his father set up a basket in Triglavska street. In this place Neno Radečić, Ivica Živković, Šime Grubišić, Aleksandar Petrović, Željko Stevelić, Dalibor Šikić and other boys from the neighborhood played basketball. In the meantime, basket disappeared and a new one was installed in 1974 in Preradovićev street. In addition to the already mentioned team the new generations started playing basketball there: Neven Spahija, Robert Jablan, Ivica Žurić, Dražen Brajković, Mario i Damir Klanc and Dražen Petrović.
